Klevr
Re: Klevr
Klevr just announced they will be having regular season scheduled games outside tournaments. I know a lot of GTA programs were already doing so anyway, but probably even better for kids' development playing games regularly instead of waiting a month and then playing 5 games at a tournament.
Re: Klevr
This is 100% accurate! I run a klevr program in the gta and was approached by a current coach with the Hamilton Ironmen 2018 program toting how good his team is and how dominant they have been all season. I took the time this past weekend to catch two of their games as our team was in the same division at the same arena. As it turns out, his 2018 team has at least 6 2017 skaters and I believe a 2017 goalie. Further to that, the coach ran his top line nearly 70% of the two games I watched. Our organization has established feeding our local aaa centre and he came to me boasting that he’s trying to build a core group for his future TRW coaching role he lined up. I’d steer clear of coaches like this as it isn’t what this league is about.
Rolling one line 70% of the games so you can win and brag leaves the balance of your team behind
It’s a sad state of affairs imo.

We played them too.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Mar 03, 2025 6:51 am This is 100% accurate! I asked a convener about this.
The team is a mix of 2018 and 2017s that’s why they are ONLY allowed to play in a 2017 division, nothing wrong with played a year up. Good to know KSL was on top of it
We didn’t notice top line playing 70% of the time but you’ll get that with certain coaches and organization. Do your homework. We are love our coaches and wouldn’t change it
Re: Klevr
Hamilton has played 2018 teams all year until the recent tournament. They have multiple 2017 kids that drive from Newmarket because they didn’t make the Northern Saints and wanted to avoid MD hockey. It’s such a loser mentality to brag about this when they play this older kids most of the game against the ‘18’s. It’s one of the sad realities of Klevr but those people aren’t helping their kids. Hamilton is a joke and the coach is an embarrassment.
Re: Klevr
every klvr game is the same to me. i watched kings vs kings. and all players did the same moves. ha ha.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Mar 03, 2025 12:28 pm KSL isn’t on top of anything. No hand shaking sends a great message as does the amount of kids playing as over age players.
The league is what it is, everyone trying to avoid half ice garbage.
Re: Klevr
I really hated this no handshaking thing. Absolutely non-sense.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Mar 03, 2025 12:28 pm KSL isn’t on top of anything. No hand shaking sends a great message as does the amount of kids playing as over age players.

and the players playing on teams they shouldn't be has always been a concern to me. There are zero controls. They make player cards, it shouldn't be difficult to have them and verify them before every single game. I've seen soccer do it.
If OMHA just smartened up and did full ice, this rogue league would likely die off in the next couple years.
Every MD program should have a select program. MD does full ice from U7 upwards. Every Select program does Half ice U7, Half ice for the first half of U8 and then Full ice onwards.
Boom - problem solved. T2 kids are in select programs, T1 in MD programs.
Maybe throw in Open Boarders for MD U8 and above.
WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR OMHA!?

It’s very easy to spot trolls and parents who are bitter that their kid never made it.
My 2015 plays in the G, aaa. Guess what? NO 33 games and no handshakes. My 2016 who will also make it to AAA next year won’t shake hands either. Maybe your house league kid does and I’m happy for him and his participation ribbon. Don’t come on here and shit talk something you’re not apart of.

Re: Klevr
Is the KSL perfect absolutely not, the one thing they do well (and have been open about this) they seed teams based on age, they do it based on skills. If you have a really strong 2017 team they childGuest wrote: ↑Mon Mar 03, 2025 11:40 am Hamilton has played 2018 teams all year until the recent tournament. Play up against the 2016 team and vice versa if you have a week 2017 team they will play against 2018 teams.
The key is, they don’t want blowouts, and try to match based on skill.
