You don’t need to be physical at all. You can do half checks and never get in the corners. Every coach loves that. When you get checked, if you get the wind knocked out you, that’s okay. The whimper the better in aaaGuest wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 1:55 pm How physical of a player do you have to be for aaa?

Any leads on teams looking? Looking for top tier teams that will take a player who has no aaa experience.

Re: 2009 GTHL AAA
Hey guys. My kids dream of AAA his whole life. U16 didn’t pan out but we aren’t discouraged, this actually motivated us to go harder to take his game to the next level. He’s been taking shots, doing drills, and visualizing in game situations since the season ended.
So a question for y’all, we are going to every single tryout we can find in the GTA (including any 1 hour circumference OMHA).
How can my son stand out in these tryouts? He has a shot than can wow people but he’s not as physical. I know AA practically had zero body contact every game, is u18 AAA the same? I know most of these skates are whites vs darks and practically a game. How should he play?
Another questions is do you guys tip the coaches for the practice? Last year each skate was on average $60 per skate. I heard some parents give an extra $40 and round it off to $100 each skate. Is that recommended to make a good impression?
