Boston will also pound them. Mostly because they pick the best kids and haven’t made it 100% business…
If they wanted to do it properly. One team from GTHL AAA. Tryouts throughout season with a final camp in April. Third party coaches, no parent coaches. Paid by GTHL. just put out 14 best players and 2 goalies. this is for u 10 GTHL as a special team.
All this back and forth is nauseating - relax people. With that said what is the over/under on Guido eating 22 hotdogs during the tournament?

For the purposes of establishing the over/under lets go with any of the following loaded dogs....

Yup, and the second team would be from the rest of Ontario. Best 3-4 kids from both sides of OMHA, HEO and Alliance. I guarantee one of those teams would actually win. But for now, we let Pro Hockey and Bulldogs line their pockets. Unfortunately, there is no actual competition in a monopoly.

I’m as opposed to pro and bulldogs as anyone but a monopoly by definition is one org and no competition. You literally listed two.

The OMHA, Alliance and HEO combined don’t have enough good kids to even make a team that would reach the final 4 at the Brick. It starts and ends in Toronto, always has always will.

Agreed. All of the best players are on the Brick teams. There are no obvious “snubs” or players who would be shoe-ins who aren’t there. The best players are there.
There might be 3-4 players in the province who might have gotten one of the last roster spots if they’d had their very best day at tryouts, but that will always be the case at any level with any team.

Would you not trade a trip to Europe for an opportunity to play in the Brick? You are absolutely nuts. You can go to Europe any year .. the Brick is a once in a lifetime and sets your kid up for life.
Why do Brick parents feel like they need to justify their life decisions by trying to convince everyone that $20k "investment" was a good idea? Enjoy your tacky air force ones and leave the rest of us alone.
We are talking about the Brick. The Brick ! People are choosing a week at Muskoka or a trip to Europe over the Brick ? Nuts! You can’t be serious. You have a chance to be apart of the Best and you pass ? Best players, Best people, Best competition, Best growth potential for your kid! To be the Best you need to be around and beat the Best. Parents don’t get it.
It is going to be a great week in Toronto when the psycho parents are out of town. What matters is whether or not your kid is a good person, takes accountability for their actions, and well-rounded with sports, music, languages and academics. Enjoy the tournament, truly.
I really think there are four types of parents when it comes to the Brick. Can you name them?
Brick Vocal Dad - His world revolves on the Brick. Rinks, Skates, Skills Sessions, AAA, All Season Hockey, Talking Brick to Non Brick Parents, Shooting Basement Pucks, Sucking up to coaches, is his world. If there is a minute of ice time for his kid to get in a week, spend four hour turnaround to seize it.
Brick Introvert Dad - Kid needs to be the best and will buy my way onto a team, even if kid doesn't have the skill. Low profile but will run you over if it means his kid can get on a Brick Team.
Play the System Dad - My kid is good enough. If he makes it great, if not, no big deal. The road to high level hockey may or may not involve the Brick .. if it does, will be there.
Stand in the Corner Dad - Really would rather be in Europe, cottage, outside, fishing than a ice rink in June/July. However, my son is so goddamn talented at this age, he makes these teams without me really want it to happen.
Am I close?
What is the split between the four types of Dads? Are there more Vocal Dads than Stand in the Corner Dads?

You haven’t watched enough hockey outside of Toronto if you actually believe that.
