Hello, we are showcasing our son at every single tournament we can get him into this summer.. still no triple a calls. Every weekend is just non stop games, weight lifting, stretching, and studying film.
His shot is best of class in the division but we can’t even get a u18 triple spot. He’s 6 foot 1 and 185lbs pure muscle. He should be about 6’4 by the time he’s in grade 12.
Prep school or triple? He’s determined to make the NHL but we need a path to go down. He goes to a world class private school in the GTA where there’s ice time everyday.
I don’t know what we have to do to get a spot. He’s been stuck in double for years. We’re sick of all these single A guys coming up every year, it’s ruining his mojo.
Any advice on how we can secure a spot before September?

Buddy, do you think you're the only one trying to break into AAA? Welcome to the club. My kid’s been lighting it up for 5 years & the top scorer, MVP, first on and last off the ice and guess what? Still waiting on that golden ticket too.
Every weekend is a road trip, gym session, and game film like we’re running an NHL combine. Meanwhile, half the A kids are somehow skating into spots like it’s open season.
You're not alone , talent’s not the problem. Politics, timing, and a whole lot of who you know? That’s the game. Keep grinding, but yeah… we’re all right there with you.

You’re not wrong. The real problem? There’s a lot of hockey parents out there who think their kid’s better than he actually is. Everyone else can see the reality, except them. They’re trying to force the issue like they can will their way onto a team just by showing up. It doesn’t work that way.

Bud do I look like a loser? Making 200k a year, 6’4” & 225lb, pure muscle, own a house, condo and cottage, drive a cyber truck, travel every month, my kids have travelled the world, eat at the finest restaurants and wear all designer names. All while you hide in your house and dream.
