OMHA Residency Rules
OMHA Residency Rules
Hello, I'm fairly new to the minor hockey circle. Can I move my child to another OMHA center for house league?
Re: OMHA Residency Rules
Curious why you would come on here and ask and not your association or OMHAGuest wrote: ↑Fri Feb 09, 2024 7:48 am Hello, I'm fairly new to the minor hockey circle. Can I move my child to another OMHA center for house league?
Re: OMHA Residency Rules
It's a minor hockey form and a minor hockey question. I don't really have time to call them during the day so I figured it would be a matter of expediency and convenience.
Re: OMHA Residency Rules
Depends on the houseleague. Some houseleagues want proof of residency and some don’t. Residency rules don’t apply until minor atom when Rep hockey officially starts.Guest wrote: ↑Fri Feb 09, 2024 8:24 am It's a minor hockey form and a minor hockey question. You will learn real quick not to ask real relevant questions on this forum... you will get eaten alive...Guest wrote: ↑Fri Feb 09, 2024 7:48 am Hello, I'm fairly new to the minor hockey circle. Can I move my child to another OMHA center for house league?
Re: OMHA Residency Rules
In Burlington it doesn't matter. You can even play Select for Burlington even if you live in another city.
Re: OMHA Residency Rules
For Local League, you can go anywhere within OMHA. If there is no LL option for your kid's age group, then they'll have to stay with the home centre's house league based on residency. For Rep there is basically no movement allowed whatsoever between centres unless you're looking at AAA and even then it's very limited.
Re: OMHA Residency Rules
You can move to a different center for house league. Residency rules don't apply to house league. You would just have to notify the current and proposed associations and basically you would stay a member of your current association but be on loan to the proposed association. The reason for the loan is in case you want to do rep in the future they still have your rights due to where you live.Guest wrote: ↑Fri Feb 09, 2024 7:48 am Hello, I'm fairly new to the minor hockey circle. Give some time for all this to happen since it can take a few weeks to get sorted out because all these people are volunteers and aren't in any real hurry to get stuff like this taken care of.
Should be really simple.
Hope this helps!
