Guest wrote: Mon Oct 07, 2024 1:55 pm Ask yourself how many Junior B's actually move up anywhere? If you are playing locally for Junior B, no problem. Just keep expectations low. Few Junior b's every move to Junior A. They may promise to "call you up" but, truth is they will take proven A players because there are always a bunch to choose from.
One JrB team alone from last season moved like half of those players up to JrA this season lol
No Jr B team had half a roster move up to Jr A this year.

Those teams that had a handful of players move up, most of them are having very little impact on their team.

Great for the kids that are having an impact on their team. But for the others, what is better as a 17 or 18 year old, playing fourth line minutes / healthy scratch at Jr A, or play Jr B with a top six role and PK or PP time?
Nobody said it was better to play sparingly in JrA rather than playing more in JrB. But "few Jr Bs ever move to JrA" is just straight up wrong
I didn't say few Jr B's move to Jr A. But I called BS on "One JrB team alone from last season moved like half of those players up to JrA this season".
CP moved a bunch up.
Although CP does a better job than most, just how many move up?

We are thirty games in. How many of CP's 2023-24 Jr B team have played 15+ games with CP Jr A this year? I count 4. I'd also count the goalie at 11 games too, so we're looking at 5 players. Definitely not half a team moving up.

Sounds like someone trying to justify staying in the comfy confines of the tiny U18AAA world

Why would anyone leave home to play in low level Jr. B leagues in the US? And they have to billet!! Ahahahahaha

Why, because Jr. B is better than U18, rhey play against older players, and rhey can supplement their lower ice time with quality private options if they chose. Your Rep B kid would be stapled to the bench if he was lucky enough to make a bottom end Jr. B team.

Many players in Jr. B are done wirh the crap Jr A league, and understand the dream is over. They play high quality hockey and move on with school or work.

Keep chasin wanna be
