I get that superteams are desirable because then you win games and get lots of attention, but does it really make sense to stack 1, 2 or 3 team then all the other teams you play against regularly are just left with so/so players and you blow them out pretty much every time you play them?
What happened to the days when you had to play in your geographic location/district? Parents will now uproot their families to get little johnny on the best team possible. Is it really worth it?
It seems like more and more teams/coaches are building 'superteams' but is it really the best thing in the long run? Is it so terrible to be on a middle of the pack team? I get it - no one wants to be on a losing team with crappy players but moving kids all over the country and states to win just feels like cheating. It's like, oh we were never going to win or stay good with our original team so we had to recruit more 10 year olds from around the country.
Don't bother responding if you're going to throw accusations of jealousy, nastiness or vulgarity. I'd like to have an actual conversation on this.
