It was the Humber Valley Sharks goalie mom and it’s not hard to find her name. She’s actually quite proud of what she did and feels absolutely no shame or guilt about it.

Has anyone asked her why she did this and how she lives with herself?

I’d like to know if she’s proud of herself and what she feels she has accomplished with what she did. What if this was done to her son’s team? Was it worth it? Is the world a better place now she’s done it? There’s a special place in hell for people like this.

As a mother I could never to this to kids. I just can’t imagine knowingly hurting a child over a game. It’s not in my nature to purposely hurt people.

Excuse me, how exactly were these children hurt? They missed no games. They missed no practices. They missed no tournaments. They know who won the games played despite what the standings today may say. They will qualify for the playoffs and continue to play. Could the penalty imposed been financial, perhaps, but aside for bragging rights by the parents for a first place finish not all that much has changed. Whether the Ipad game sheet fiasco was an oversight or just plain incompetent, team adults were responsible, but please these kids didn't miss a thing.

Well yes and no. You can certainly file this under "First World Problems" but the players do feel some effect. They could have missed the playoffs (still an outside chance). If they do get the last spot, they are now seeded against the top team in the division. You work all season to get that favourable 1st round match up. Not only does MR now have to face #1, #1 has to face MR. So how is that fair to #1? One of these teams now will be a 1st round exit. Is that good for the game? Ideally #1 and #2 in a division should meet in the division final. There can be upsets but generally you want your best teams advancing along to the finals. This can also impact a team's chances at OHFs. Now you could argue "so MR and #1 meet in the first round, rather than the division final, the result may be the same in the end - so what's the big deal?" Well there's likely two tough playoff series in between which one of them will not get to play in now, not get the added experience of playing high-level playoff hockey. So there is a cost to the player there too. Again, not the end of the world in the grand scheme of life, but you can't just dismiss the price on the players.

finally, some actual humor! Guess what? Lots of MR parents are sick of all of this too. We had no way to know of or fix this issue. The playoff spot people reference is not secure. The boys worked hard this season and should have been seeded higher and likely would have had a deep run. Now, let's all go back to talking about how awesome the Vaughan teams are because isn't that why MHT exists anyway?

LOL ok MR dad. You are not fooling anyone. NO ONE is on your side except for your own team. The only team out of 465 who could not figure it out. Literally the only other team. Bye Bye 1st round! karma baby.

It’s unfortunate things have become so hostile. We’re all here because we support our teams and our kids, let’s focus on that rather than taking cheap shots at each other. Jesus loves you.

Shoutout to the Vaughan Panthers! Truly a great team with awesome kids and outstanding coaches who lead with integrity and heart. This group is more than just a team, we’re united together like a family. Proud to be part of such an incredible organization!
