Emc has had very corrupt non parent board members.
Non parents do not guarantee any improvement or “balance”. There is little to no motivation for a non parent to be involved in minor hockey boards or even coaching younger teams.
Most parent volunteers are actually in it for the right reasons and in many instances will work harder for an org because they want it to be the best situation for their kids and the people in their community. The real problem are conniving, manipulative and selfish parents. They are guilty of everything they accuse the board of. They would NEVER do anything to benefit any kids but their own so they can’t understand why decent people would do it. Get involved and make a difference but be careful you might help someone youre not related to in the process..

Guy played over 450 games in the NHL, won a Cup and made enough money to not have to endure the daily grind of work the rest of his life and coaches for the challenge and to give back.
I would guess JW did not take the job bc he needs to build his reputation, increase his bank account or prove anything to anyone. He sifted through a bunch of names and selected some and dropped the rest. Was he pushed or influenced...no idea...but often times the people who Not Allowed and moan all day often, in fact very often, do nothing bc they do not have the experience, skills or mental capacity to withstand all that comes with coaching other peoples "precious cargo"

Nice summary of his history, you should write his bio. If comprehension isn’t your strong suit, this isn’t an attack on JW. This isn’t intended to be an attack on anyone. This is a public organization and this is about transparency. The board abuses their power to the advantage of their kid (CL, CD, CR). This includes making sure their kid makes a team, pushing for specific coaches who benefit their kid, ice time, and so the list goes on. Obviously the board thinks they’re sneaking around making moves, and no one is noticing.
