If not should this happen to a coach if the team doesn’t improve/perform or show progress?

Like any paid position, if you are not performing, termination of employment should always be an option. You better believe that if my kid is on a team where the coach is being paid say $15k and they are not performing, we are going to have a problem. I would bet the association is not forking out the money in good faith and my fees are probably going up $500 or more to help cover the new cost. Paid coaching should only be a thing at the AAA level anyway. Is anyone aware of paid coaches at the single A/AA level?
Since minor hockey coaching should be primarily focused on individual player development, not team achievements or win/loss columns, what kpi’s would one use for evaluation purposes, and by who?
THIS. bunch of egomaniacs focused on winning over development is everything that’s wrong with minor hockey

What about those organizations who do not pay coaches?

Italian coaches are the best! They know the game inside and out & they’re passionate. They’re fair and if they see that your kid isn’t working hard enough, they will let him know & they will cut him from the team, they do what’s best for the team! Sometimes it’s hard to be cut but that’s hockey.

After U12 teams should be coached to win games!! Individual development can be done "individually" the players should not be wasting everyone's time practicing skills that should already be in place for the level at which your child is currently playing

Also.for the previous comment about Italian coaches all I can say is LOL I hope you're joking otherwise I would defer that you do a ton of drugs.

You have no idea what development actually means. I hope you aren't a coach.

I like the coaches who have a long resume of playing ball hockey for Team Vaughn in the Canadian Italian Ball Hockey League on CHIN TV

Lots at AA level for sure. A there are some but not many, more teams pay for someone to augment some of their practices

My coach also owns a hockey school. You should see his house! He’s loaded.

About half of the coaches are paid in the youth AA loop. The GTHL and hockey Canada have made it so hard for the average hockey loving dad to coach a team. Every year coaches work off the ice increases, the admin required builds, more courses and the threats of suspension increase. I had a kid come to try out who from outside of the GTHL as was told I could be suspended for that. Like how do I know where all the kids coming from tryouts come from. Dressing room rules, music rules, parents meeting requirements, financial requirements, the list just continues to grow. To top it off refs have become control freaks and hand out suspensions to coaches like candy.
