Trust me. It’s all about #2 and #7. Grit power and iq. That’s why they run the PP.
Didn't do much when we played them. Both were pulled off the PP. And I believe they were both -4
Could have been worse if the other D were on the ice and just because they were pulled off it doesn’t mean they’re not VK’s top D pairing. They have no other choice but to play them. They will run them all playoff long.
Do we look at defensive defensemen anymore? Is plus/minus a stat? Many players make a living because they can make a 1st pass. These guys can’t/dont/wont, and cause more turnovers than points. Watch the JRC 4-3 game. Check the plus/minus when you’re done.
Great post let’s go with it. I myself enjoying watching a top shutdown Dman. I think we should have more of them and definitely should be highlighted.
Who are the best defensive defenseman in our age group?
Is it a taught skill or inherent dna?
Do scouts and OHL teams still look for these traits?

I check the whole teams stats. #2 and #7 lead in all areas over the others d. #6 would be 3rd top d on that team but will play as a 5th d cause of relationships. Just the way it is. Wishing all a great playoff run.

I totally agree, while VK’s d might be offensively spirited, they definitely are the absolute worse defensively. VK doesn’t win game because of their Dman, they lose because of them. VK’s liability is their Dmen and can be exploited.

I’ll agree with this. We beat them because their defense is terrible at actual defense. Offensively spirited and talented I also agree, but defensive liabilities. That team needs strong defensive d pairings to over compensate.

So who’s the toughest Dman to play against in the league?

I would have said that this player would have been be a defensive liability. I put him in the same category as the VK Dmen.
When he does play D, size, strength and reach is very effective in open ice and tight spaces. Plays way too soft for our liking.
