I guess team Canada dads couldn’t buy this one.
Canada will continue to get embarrassed at hockey’s highest level until HC gets rid of the bribes and special favours that are rampant in hockey and start refocusing on finding the best of the best.
Pay to play creates nothing but whiny losers.
And yes my kid is on a team that is in the bottom half.

Re: 2010 GTHL AAA
Fact is you can put a bunch of studs together it doesn’t equal success. And a tournament is very different then a season. It’s kinda like a power play. You don’t always score on it but the same players go out every time. As a coach it’s a percentage game you always put your highest percentage guys on. All those Canadian players were really good, just didn’t get it done.Guest wrote: ↑Fri Jan 03, 2025 10:35 amNo their bottom because players aren’t good enough. Chase hahaha you’re not asked.Guest wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2025 11:27 pmYou just proved your kid is on a top team. I know that must feel great for you around the water cooler. My kid’s team is in a playoff spot, but we’ll never chase the Sens, MM or JRC dream.Guest wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2025 11:24 pmIs your kid on a bottom team?Guest wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2025 11:08 pm Just watch Team Canada and that should be all the proof to you parents on why you shouldn’t follow the top teams. Put your kid on a team where he’s forced to work, learn how to actually play the game and be challenged day in day out. This team Canada team this year and last year were full of spoiled kids who played on top teams their whole lives. They even showed the 2015 brick team who was stacked of future team Canada players. Only to lose to Latvia and in the quarters. And you watch, all you morons will flock to the top 4 G teams and sure your son will get drafted, but what will he do when he’s challenged at the higher levels, he’ll crumble just like this new age of spoiled Canadian players do. Which coaches in the G have improved their team without stacking it? Which team has no money parents, a happy parent group and coaches who have pushed their team to improve from last year. That’s where your son will most likely flourish. Orrrrr you can just raise another spoiled brat to eventually ruin his career years from now because he has to play for a top G team instead of learning actual lessons.

LOL isn't that the question?? Why though, why aren't they good enough? Coaching or politics, money etc.Guest wrote: ↑Fri Jan 03, 2025 10:35 amNo their bottom because players aren’t good enough. A top kid is a top kid no matter the politics and money
Bottom to Average kids , money and politics def plays a role
Thats just the way it goes and this will never change, it is called real life, stop blaming the G

Re: 2010 GTHL AAA
So why do all the top players flock to the top teams? What’s wrong with a stud playing for a 7th or 8th place team. Also, look at how many goalies in years past went on to do well who didn’t play for top teams. Top teams don’t face enough shots, don’t have to be tested defensively by 9 other teams in the G. This ends up hurting them in the end, unless they’re the clear number one on that team.Guest wrote: ↑Fri Jan 03, 2025 1:02 pm A top kid is a top kid no matter the politics and money

Re: 2010 GTHL AAA
Top players pool together because you practice more then you play development is better with better caliber players. Plus a goalie sees x amount of shots in a game. May see a couple hundred in practice from top tier shooters and players. Not to mention the best players have a different type of compete level wether it’s against teammates or opponents they compete the same. They want the puck and hate to lose.Guest wrote: ↑Fri Jan 03, 2025 1:18 pmSo why do all the top players flock to the top teams? What’s wrong with a stud playing for a 7th or 8th place team. It’s not the same for goalies. 200-300 shots in practice is great from a top team and does help with development. But practice is structured and predictable. Being on a bad team and seeing 30 shots in a game develops hockey sense and adds unpredictability, which you can’t get from practice. Nothing compares to getting peppered in a game.
