yes they do... you are getting conned. imagine paying a guy $140 an hour that is less skilled than your kid...Guest wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2025 8:00 pmlolGuest wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2025 7:51 pm A good rule of thumb I always have when looking at a coach or skills coach is to go to hockey db, type in their name.
If they were a good hockey player you can see their numbers. if they are not on there, they are more than likely not a good coach for development.
It is fine to have an older coach paired with highly skilled assistant coach, but only the top teams generally have 2 highly qualified coaches.![]()
please tell us you are joking. Stats as a player have nothing to do with coaching a team nor being a skills coach. You must be new to hockey.

Of course you want to do the homework and pick a team that's going to win more than loose. But development is key or else you'll be looking at AA for U11
Who's top 3 coaches for next year? TRW, TM, NATS?
are you being sarcastic?

Re: 2016 AAA
Such a flawed philosophy. The best coaches in most sports were rarely ever the ones lighting up the stat sheets. Go look at NHL coaches, OHL coaches. The large majority were not high on the stat sheets but a lot of them make for good coaches as a result of other qualities. Hockey DB stat searches will tell you nothing about good coaches. What it will tell you is that they were good at hockey and that’s about it.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2025 7:51 pm A good rule of thumb I always have when looking at a coach or skills coach is to go to hockey db, type in their name.

Re: 2016 AAA
DMF will be middle of the pack team. Regardless of the core being tier 2. They have strong players and a solid plan in place. Iykyk. Watch out at u11 they will be fighting for that top spot. This is not a money hungry org. Fully committed to the players to develop.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2025 8:13 pmSorry if most people know this, but who is the DMF coach?Guest wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2025 3:56 pm DMF coach might be the strongest among all coaches. Has the experience and results to back it up. TM coach is a newbie and is half a sleep. Completely clueless he needs to go back to coaching house league. Nats coach is another guy with experience. But DmF will definitely improve and be a top team by u11. They have a solid plan with a trainer and a coach who has a ton of experience.
Re: 2016 AAA
Gretzky had a losing record as a coach. Now how about Scotty B.
Re: 2016 AAA
Is it true that Klvr kids are blocked for next season or is that complete shit ? Serious question
Re: 2016 AAA
We are talking about U10 development not NHL you moron. He coaches MEN that are already skilled. He is not teaching them how to shoot the puck or pass, we are talking about SKILL DEVELOPMENT of young kids. They need to see it, not hear it. Different ages require different strengths of coaches. Having a coach that can skate at an impressive level, IS FAR MORE IMPORTANT. If any of these old boy coaches were any good they would have moved up the higher levels by now, instead they are back trying to convince you they deserve 40 k, because they won a u18 championship in 2004
You can draw all the plays in the world, but most kids will be looking at the ceiling after 5 seconds. You need an energetic coach that can play the game, not some fat Scott Bowman wannabe that yells instructions but is not capable of showing the skills. When they get to u15-NHL range, its about who is a good tactician.
Re: 2016 AAA
it was the asst coach crazy Horner that jumped off the bench and another TS dad that fought 2 guys from NS. A TS mom got thrown onto the ground and the head coach of TS got punched in face. He didn’t fight. It was crazy Horner and the other dad that fought. Feel bad for the head coach he actually didn’t do anything wrong.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2025 9:57 amThey both got into a f*cking fight with other parents you moron. One was kicked out of the game already and the other idiot left the bench. They were indefinitely suspended. This could lead to civil or criminal charges. They had no choice. Are you retarded?Guest wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2025 9:16 am Stars made a huge mistake they decided to get rid a coach that has developed this team for many years. Then also got rid of best player.
That Horner guy is a major problem and his kid is a dirty player. Good luck to whichever team is taking them! Have fun getting 100 penalties! I would stay far far Away
