why would you claim they are dumpster fires? I don't get it. Obviously you believe everything you read on here. Look up and down the coaches in U10, There might be 2-3 max of good coaches with actual experience. You are too focused on young non parents who run hockey schools surrounding themselves with all stars. You guys with track records with older age groups who have been through the grind. Winning at 8 and 9 and even 10-11 years old means absolutely nothing. Sure it helps with the Instagram posts but in the grand scheme your kid needs ice time and development during practice. Thats what matters, not some dip$hit saying those teams are dumpster fires.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2025 10:22 am Thanks for the nats update lol what other top teams are looking for players ? Rebels, reps, nyr, dmf all seem like dumpster fires. Why is it so difficult trying to get on a top 6 team and who are going to be the other 2 teams rounding out the top 6 ?
Some think it’s the titans some think the sens ? Anyone have real input that will actually help ?

Darwin darling is a recruiting machine. Most people will not want to ride that ship though.
Re: 2016 AAA
Do you even know what development is? If you don’t have a good coach who knows how to develop and a decent team that’s a starting point. You can’t turn a donkey into a horse by making him run 4 hours a day.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2025 11:04 amwhy would you claim they are dumpster fires? I don't get it. no VK?Guest wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2025 10:35 amIf you have not been to skates or been approached it won’t matter. From what it seems after attending a few skates these teams should be the strongest 6 but it’s impossible to know what rankings will be between them.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2025 10:22 am Thanks for the nats update lol what other top teams are looking for players ? JRC
TM
Nats
TRW
Reps
TT
Others have had very weak skates and others have struggled to keep top kids from feeders.
Re: 2016 AAA
VR set to become VK has not played any meaningful games outside of their half ice. Nats have regularly so you can’t really compare the two nor can you compare on an odd occasion VR beating Nats on half ice. VK is also not a brand like JRC or TM which normally can attract players off of just the name. VR skills coach is set to become head coach and good luck with that as well. The biggest challenge they will face is not getting or making g changes to the players to improve.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2025 11:17 amno VK?Guest wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2025 10:35 amIf you have not been to skates or been approached it won’t matter. If your kid is not on the ice 4 hours a day 28 hours a week how can you make it to the NHL?Guest wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2025 11:08 amDo you even know what development is? Re: 2016 AAA
Some rumour coming for Ranger. How true they got 3 very strong forward and 1 strong D to commit to have a strong core players?
Re: 2016 AAA
What does 'recruiting' even look like at U10? What are coaches pitching to prospective families to attract them to their team? Good coaching, high quality development, lots of ice time, a winning season? Are coaches able to offer free rides or reduced fees at this age group? Legitimately interested in how the 'elite' kids choose one program over another.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2025 11:04 am Darwin darling is a recruiting machine. Re: 2016 AAA
All of the above. Selling them on how good the team will be. Remember free rides will mean the other parents will have higher fees to cover the cost of the free rides. I’ve not heard any teams except 1 offering free rides because they were struggling to attract good players. Personally I feel that if you have a coach who has played some high level of hockey, can communicate well with kids at the age group without become so animated and emotional all the time, is committed and has a development plan and can tell you where your kid fits in what he will work to improve on with your kid where he feels his strengths are that should be good. If a coach doesn’t see the good and improvement areas in your kid you should ask and get the feedback to see if what he observed makes sense.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2025 12:41 pmWhat does 'recruiting' even look like at U10? Re: 2016 AAA
My kid is a top player with 5-6 teams trying to get him. I would NEVER play for a team if I found out free rides were being given out. Such a mess and creates a really bad situationGuest wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2025 1:15 pmAll of the above. Selling them on how good the team will be.
