It's the parents who want the AAA status at U10 and U11, not the kids (they don't care as long as they are playing and having fun!). It's so much better to play at a level where your kid can get a lot of ice time and develop. U10 AAA means nothing. U11 AAA means nothing. It only starts to matter at the older age groups. Playing time should be the focus for these younger kids. That's why U10 and U11 "AAA" kids disappear in U13 and up. The kids who had tons of ice but played AA take those spots because they actually had a chance to play meaningful minutes.

Don't be shortsighted.

when you message a coach, the first question they normally ask is where your kid play this year. that means if your kid is in AA or not strong team, they will not be considered at beginning.
This is true, but if the kid has developed and is now superior to current AAA kids, coaches won't care that the kid played AA. You can't base your decisions on that anyway. This is what a lot of parents think, but they're all wrong. Impatience to start AAA too soon is going to result in AA when hockey starts to matter.

VR gave them a thumping. Shut them out. Nats will really need to bring in a scorer next year.

VK might be top team next year.
