It was mostly tier 3 mississauga stars and mississauga raiders kids (not the good ones), outcasts from other tier 2 teams, and at least 3 families who were parent cuts from their previous klevr teams. The org is late to the punch here and would have been beter off with DH and his core. It's amazing what people are willing to endure for that extra letter to say their kid plays AAA in the G. Adjust your rankings folks.
2016 AAA

JRC will be too strong. 3 very strong lines. Every player on the team understands the importance of puck movement and unselfish play. DE continues to enforce passing. People have tried to trash talk and stated the team is getting de-commits but the team looks strong.

I can agree with this. Raiders silver players going JRC moves the puck very well.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Apr 08, 2025 9:47 amLmao puck movement … ok budGuest wrote: ↑Tue Apr 08, 2025 9:43 am JRC will be too strong. 3 very strong lines. The reason for this is the GTHL find high quality coaches where the OMHA didn't but things have changed within the last 5-8 years. Now there is better coaching in the OMHA.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Apr 07, 2025 9:15 pm if OMHA is so good and cheap, why are there so many kids from outside the G driving in for U10?
the cost reasons are because ice is cheaper outside of the GTA the OMHA doesn't add entrance fees where the G adds it to the teams budget.
Plus the G coaches demand at U10 age 10K+ to coach and that defiantly adds to the cost.
Enjoy your 3 hr of traffic just for a practice thats an 1hr long hahaha

I heard 407 gives discounts to Omha teams. Buddy, if you live in OMHA territory and go to the GTHL, you are insane:Guest wrote: ↑Tue Apr 08, 2025 10:49 amI heard 407 gives discounts to Omha teams. 4 practices a week locally with one (potentially long drive every couple weeks, the rest likely being within an hour to an hour and a half)
vs
4-5 multi hour drives into the city through traffic
You tell me which one is better for quality of life? And if you genuinely think the competition is so much better in the GTHL I've got some swampland in Florida to sell to you. There will be 4 or 5 good teams in the GTHL, there will be 4 or 5 good teams in OMHA. The rest are AA teams. The BEST team, is likely in OMHA with WW.
the next couple teams probably the GTHL, and then the next couple are probably OMHA.
I rarely hear anything positive about coaching in the G, and all I hear is how cut-throat it is. How much parents hate each other. How kids jump teams every single year, etc.
If thats what you are looking for, for your child.... I don't know what to tell you. I hope you enjoy it

If you already LIVE in Toronto, I guess it is what it is.

I have 4 boys. 2 all the way through the G. This post is written by someone who has no clue and never done it. The G has been the single most positive and fulfilling part of our lives. Wouldn’t trade it for anything. I am sure the O has lots of great things about it too. Love hockey and hockey will ove you. Stop the hate and nonsense. Have fun. Make friends.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Apr 08, 2025 11:18 amBuddy, if you live in OMHA territory and go to the GTHL, you are insane:Guest wrote: ↑Tue Apr 08, 2025 10:49 amI heard 407 gives discounts to Omha teams. Re: 2016 AAA
The biggest difference between OMHA vs GTHL will be OMHA will be very weak. AA hockey Va AAA hockey in the G except for WW.
