PP is going to be worse next year. Top players are leaving south down the 115 …. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!

YSE coach is a parent who plays 2 lines and his kid and that’s it. Kid is AA at best…. Parent group desperately nee a non parent.
Who is leaving PP to make them worse?
CC and OH
The goalie and a Dman?
Where are they off too ?

Every team is going to try to make changes including the teams mentioned. Some of the kids will be better than others. For the most part kids want to play with their friends and have fun.
I feel sorry for the kids who have no choice because their mom or dad think they are going to the NHL and in order to do that they need to play away from their friends or they want to get a few more wins.

At the end of the day these kids are 11-12 years old and play the game because they love playing. NSW are known to have some of the craziest parents for the reason mentioned above. I would imagine it will be a relief for the team if the players mentioned to be leaving do leave as it will be someone else's problem.

I don't think it's about not being able to have fun or play with buddies. The point is that at every level the buddies need to be good enough to play on said team to be able to play together. Part of the fun and memories that are made from hockey is being able to meet new people and grow as a person with lessons that last a lifetime. 99.9% of parents shouldn't think their kid is going to the NHL...and even if they do...it changes over the years. If your kid is a competitive kid and wants to play at the highest level they can they will learn many lessons along the way even if their best friend(s) isn't on their team every season. And they also can't dictate to a coach who to pick and who not to pick.

Keep telling yourself that. Ask your child where they want to play and they will tell you with their friends. Parents like you say things like “ meeting new people “ and “ different opportunities “ to mask the fact that you are making the choice and not your kid.

But when the coach asks “ hey we would love to have you back next year” you say “ haven’t talked to the kid yet “ or “ the choice is the kids and right now we are focusing on this year” meanwhile you have 5 open text conversations with other coaches on the go.

You are not fooling anyone. Just tell the coach thanks but we are moving on .

My kid doesn't even play trips but I'm just following this thread. So thank you for your blatant ignorance based on the fact you likely never played. 😄 Good job telling me you never played a competitive level of hockey without telling me you never played a competitive level of hockey.

Right, because every kid is exactly the same and none of them care about anything but friends. And all teams are full of kids who are best friends with each other.

Yes they are 11-12 year olds, still kids but they are almost teens and absolutely have their own motivations and opinions about where they want to play beyond just where their friends are.
